That's DUCHESS Kate to you now!

On April 29th 2011, Catherine Middleton married Prince William,Duke of Cambridge to become Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The above does NOT mean Kate is Princess Kate UNLESS Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II bestows her that title. Anyone who marries a monarch is a consort. For example, the Queen Mother is a Queen Consort because she married King George VI; she is not Queen Elizabeth II (if this were true then the Queen Mother's Daughter, Queen Elizabeth would be Queen Elizabeth III). The same applies to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh not being a King but only a King's consort. Prince Charles' wives Diana and Camilla are NOT Princess Diana or Princess Camilla, they are Lady Diana Spencer and Camilla,Duchess of Cornwall.

So what do the Royals do today? Unlike Saudi Arabia,Oman and Qatar, the British Monarchy is Constitutional. This means that unlike the aforementioned Absolute Monarchies (where the Monarch is in charge and sets laws), Constitutional Monarchs have limited power; the government that is elected by the people sets the laws and they must be OK'd by the House of Commons and House of Lords. The Monarchs in a Constitutional Monarchy can only do small things e.g. OK the laws (which they do not really bother looking at), dissolve/put a hold to parliament if need be (not often) and induct the new Prime Minister or Knight people; they do not set laws and if they fire the Prime Minister, it is up to the people to find a new one-Monarchs do not have a lot of creative expression.

Now that boring political stuff is over with, see how the following music fits perfectly with the videos of the Wedding.
